From the age of
4 up until 18 I have always had to adhere to some sort of uniform while at
school, and during that time I have noticed that people have always tried to
break free from the apparent constraints that wearing a set, strict uniform
puts on the individual. This may have been through wearing their ties really
short, not tucking their shirt in, or wearing a non-regulation jumper under
their blazer. I find this need, which the vast majority of people, myself
included, seem to have to subtly break the rules with out completely ignoring
them very interesting, and this concept of passive non-conformity against a
rule of uniformity forms part of the basis for this project.
